Another week down, and we just keep moving along and singing our song! We have started our Letter review so we can start putting sounds together to form words that we will soon be reading. We also finished our first Math Assessment which will be very beneficial for me. These will allow me to see what we need to clearly focus on based on what the kids know and don't know already. I am seeing lots of growth from the children already, it is so amazing to watch their eyes light up each time we learn and do something new! On Friday, we attempted to use the school Chromebooks, and it was a success! Hopefully, we will be able to use the Chromebooks each Friday as a fun reward for a GREAT week and to help better build skills that need strengthening. A few notes/reminders: *Picture day is this coming Tuesday, September 11, 2018. Your child may dress in nice clothes and are not required to wear the school uniform. Please make sure your child has on tennis shoes though as they're feet will not be in the picture, and we will still be going to recess and PE on Tuesday as well. *There is no school, Friday, September 14, 2018 due to the scheduled faculty meetings. *Book Orders are due September 14, 2018. Since we are not in school on Friday, September 14, I will gladly extend the order until Monday, September 17, 2018. You can either send the order form back to school, or place your order online with the classroom access code HBJRQ. Note, there are many more options to choose from if you order online, you are not just limited to the books listed in the flyers sent home. We are continuing to work on and review the rules of the classroom, and the school, on a daily basis. I will continue to stress the importance of following these rules with the children often to build a safe and fun atmosphere for learning for all of the students. Please help me by reinforcing these rules at home, as well as the importance of listening, paying attention to the teacher, and following directions at all times. This class is a great group of students with so much potential and a willingness to learn, I know they can do it and are already developing an understanding of our routine as we continue to practice and grow in our everyday learning. |
