Look out, Kindergarten is on the move! We are well on our way to becoming stronger readers and moving on up to 1st grade! We continue to practice our sight words and work on our word attack skills. Sounding out words is becoming a thing of the past and we are starting to recognize words that we would have needed to sound out at the beginning of the 3rd quarter. We wil lbe continuing to build on these skills and will be reading without any help in no time ;) We are spending the season of Lent preparing our hearts for Jesus. We are learning how to be prayerful people and what it means to be a child of God. We practice our skills of kindness and love each day to make us better Friends. I love to see the enthusiasm the children have when we talk about how to be a good friend and treat otehrs the way Jesus would want us to do. We are also working hard on our Math skills during the 4th quarter. We are jumping into adding numbers and will soon start subtracting numbers. The students will each get a turn to lead Morning Meeting as the "TEACHER". It is so neat to watch them help each other learn! Reminder to read 5 AR books for the 4th quarter and study your sight word lists! I can't wait to see what is next in our year of learning! Other items to practice at home: coloring skills (staying in the line) and improvment of handwriting skills (stayig on the line, writing letters and numbers correctly, watching of space in between words) If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me, my email is: austin@strpdschool.org |
