October News :)

We are working very hard in Kindergarten and learning so much each day!  We are reviewing our school rules and how to be kind to one another each day and working hard to learn the correct sounds each letter makes.  We are currently having fun learning about Apples and will move on to Pumpkins later on in the month.  When we finish our review of each letter unit, we will begin putting these sounds together to read words.  We will move into daily reading from our Readers soon :).  In Math, we will continue to review sorting and shapes as well as colors.  We will start putting the numbers we have learned to write correctly to build on counting up and onward to 100.  Parent Teacher conference forms will be coming home to request your times.  I look forward to meeting and talking with you about your child's progress on October 26th.  I will be giving you the first set of sight words for the student's to begin studying at conferences and will start assessing soon after that (beginning with the 2nd quarter).  I will be sending home a detailed note about Halloween which will include notes about wearing of costumes to school for the day, going to St. Catherine's to Trick or Treat and finally the plan for our Halloween Party.
