Week One and Done :)

posted Aug 24, 2018, 10:23 AM by Jamie Austin
We have survived our first full week of the school year!  I think you can agree that the students ARE beyond exhausted, but a good exhausted.  We have been working very hard to learn our new routine and the students are all doing a wonderful job of adjusting to the newness of everything.  We have learned how to stand in a line, how to walk down the hall quietly, and how to adjust to more than one teacher.  We have visited each of our Special Classes and have enjoyed PE the most, lol!  We also went to Church on Wednesday with our 8th grade buddies and enjoyed their company as we prayed together and celebrated God and Jesus' love for us.  We will learn more about this love God and his son Jesus has for each of us in our Religion Curriculum.  We will continue to work hard at being good friends and making good choices in everything we do as the year progresses. We have also begun our Math Curriculum and are working on showing how well we can count to start.  We will start working with our Reading Curriculum next week.  We will begin by identifying and learning how to write each letter correctly.  I can't wait to see how much progress your child will make in just 26 short days!

Please note, we will begin bringing home assignment notebooks and blue communication folders on Monday, August 27.  I will start marking behavior notes in the notebooks and looking for lunch notes in the notebooks and on the monthly lunch menu in the back of the folders as well.

HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND, Week 2 will be here soon and more fun is being scheduled as we speak!
