Dear preschool families, We have had a very busy first week of school. We have begun to establish routines. The children are learning how we take attendance and lunch count, clean up the toys, participate in large group activities like circle time, wait in line, pray together, clean our spots at snack time, listen to stories, participate in small group centers, eat in a cafeteria, play on the school playground, nap at school, create beautiful works of art with shared supplies, and follow a line for dismissal. Whew! I get exhausted just thinking about it. If that wasn't enough, we have also been learning about the months of the year, days of the week, our colors and shapes, how colors mix, and what makes us special. We have also worked on improving our fine motor strength through working with playdough, tweezers, writing and drawing, lacing cards, and stringing beads. If anyone was wondering why nap blankets did not come home, it is because we only had 2 days with nap. I will send them home in the upcoming week. It was so fun to begin to learn about these special boys and girls. I am looking forward to a great year! Don't forget that this Wednesday, August 21st is curriculum night at ASA St. Rose P.D. I hope that all of you can make it. I look forward to showing you what goals I have for your children. We begin with a State of the School presentation by Dr. Gilligan at 6:30 followed by three 10 minute periods to attend teacher presentations on curriculum (so you can visit teachers for multiple children if needed). God bless you all, Mrs. Hale and Mrs. Moore |
