Hello everyone,

We have completed another busy week in preschool.  We worked on the letter Dd.  In addition to our weekly poem, yoga pose, list of words, and clue can, we also painted dots on the d and played a math game of placing sprinkles on the donut.  The kids did a great job of guessing that Miykah placed a duck in the clue can.  They are all anxious to have a turn.

We also began discussing fire safety this week.  We did small group fire drills in preparation for our first school-wide fire drill.  We talked about knowing 2 ways out, staying low, getting out, and finding an adult to call for help.  This is an excellent concept to reinforce at home.  Do your kids know where to go if you exit the house in different places in a fire?

We also continued working in colors and shapes, patterns, and strengthening fine motor skills.

I noticed several students coming in with jackets on the cool mornings this week.  As we hopefully move toward some cooler days soon, don't forget to send those jackets as needed and write your child's name in them.

Dates to remember
Friday, October 4 - No School for faculty retreat
Friday October 11, - 12:00 dismissal for faculty meeting - send lunch if using after care
Thursday, Ocober 31 - No School

Have a blessed week.
