Dear Parent(s),
This week will be a very exciting and special week.  As we approach the coming of Easter, we will be participating in our annual  Retreat Day on Wednesday.  This is a very special day revolving around prayer, reflection and special activities. The children will not have homework as well which should also make them very happy.

The topics we will be covering this week are:

Religion:  We are doing special projects that revolve around the Season of Lent.

Spelling: This weeks words are a review of the skills from Units 19-23.

English: We will be covering possessive pronouns, contractions, and when to use there, they're, or their.

Math:  This week we will be reviewing identifying the  number of days in each month, and the number of days in a year, multiplication facts of 5,9 4 and 8. We will also be identifying the number of inches in a foot and a yard, feet in a yard, and centimeters in a meter.

Reading: We will be starting our new story Young Thomas Edison.  The new vocabulary words we are using this week is invention, laboratory, gadget, signal, experiment, genius, electric, and occasional.  The skills with this story are words with au, aw, al, and o. Other skills we will be covering in this story are pronouns and antecedents.

Social Studies:  We are covering the different types of communities.

Parents the children will be bringing home a book report project on Tuesday.  This is a very easy project that the children should enjoy doing.
