Dear Parent(s), Hopefully you had a great weekend! Just a friendly reminder, this Friday is a noon dismissal, if your child is going to aftercare they will need to bring a lunch with them that day. This coming Wednesday is our classes turn to do the mass. I have asked the children if possible to bring in a can good and a stuffed animal that will be used to decorate the altar for St. Francis of Assisi. The stuffed animals will go home on Wednesday. If their animals could come in by Tuesday that would be helpful! The following are topics we will be covering this week. Math:Counting dimes, nickels and pennies, Writing fractions using fraction bars, Adding facts of nine, and Identifying a dozen. Religion: We are completing chapter 3 and will be taking an open book test on Thursday. I have have the children start bringing their books home on Monday. Again our classes mass is this Wednesday, if you can come that would be great! English: We will be covering Singular and Plural Possessive Nouns, and how to using nouns using more exact nouns. We are also at the end of this chapter as well. We will take our English test next Wednesday. Reading: We are finishing up our story about Cardigan Jones. This week we be learning how to use a dictionary. The children will be also taking their reading test on this story and the skills learned with this story. Science: We are finishing up our chapter on the Solar System and then we will move to the bones of the body. Always a fun unit for the children. Spelling: These words this week are review words. We will still have our spelling test on Friday since we will be in school until noon. Have a great week! Pray for me as I always pray for you. |
