Dear Parent(s), Can't believe we are now half way through the fourth quarter! Progress Reports went home this Friday in their folders. The children enjoyed the field trip to Trinity Catholic High School seeing the musical Cinderella. We even saw some of our older students in the play. Big shout out to Spencer Koen in 7th grade and Samantha Booth in 4th grade for representing our school in this way. I would also like to give a big shout out to our second graders who will be receiving Jesus for the first time in the Sacrament of First Communion. The following are the topics we will be covering this week.: Religion: We are starting a new chapter entitled, God calls us to Holiness. We will hear how God calls different people to do many different roles in our church.. Dome people might be called to the religious life. We just need to open our hearts and hear what God wants of each of us. Spelling: This weeks words are words that are contractions. Math: This week we will be reading and writing five digit numbers, mult. by 100's and 1000. We will also be writing four digit numbers using expanded form, We will be identifying perpendicular lines. English This will be starting to write our own stories. I will having them use adjectives in the writing to make the story more interesting and creative. In computer class they will type up their stories. Reading: We have just started a story called Tops and Bottoms. This is trickster tale that also teaches a lesson ( morale) . In this lesson some of the skill taught are homophones,andwords ending with er and le. The boys mass is coming up next week. April 25th. We have been over to the chapel to prepare already. Please have them bring a can good to donate to our St. Vincent DePaul food pantry. Hope you all have a great weekend! |
