Dear Parents,
It was great meeting with you all during our Parent-Teacher Conferences.  A lot is going on these next few weeks so pay close attention to the newsletters that will be coming out this month.  Remember, Thursday is the Feast of All Saints and the children are not in classes that day.  Our Halloween Party begins at 2:00 on Wednesday, if you are free please come up and enjoy in the events. Of course we will not have homework on Wednesday night! The following are the topics we will be covering this week:

Spelling:  The children are taking their spelling test Monday due to fact they were off on Friday.  They will also be getting their new words on Monday.  Due to the fact of being off on Thursday, they will take their practice test on Friday and the actual test again on Monday.  The words this week follow the pattern of adding s, es to the words to make them plural.  The words are: friends, inches, brushes, fixes, flies, tries, pennies, crackers, marches, stitches, rushes, mixes, ladies, and parties.

Math: This week in math we will be subtracting three digit numbers and subtracting across zeros.

Reading:  We are finishing up a project using idioms, and learning how to use commas in a sentence. We will begin taking our test on Roberto Clemente at the beginning of next week.  I will have the children bring home their books this week to reread the story to you.

English: This week we will be working with verbs in the past and in the future.

Science:  We are not cutting out the pieces that will make up our skeleton.  The children will be asked to sing you the "Bones Song" if they already haven't been.  We will sing the song to some of the other classes as well.

Religion: We are preparing for our Religion Test for Friday. The test like always will  be open book, and it will be the material in Chapter 4.

Have a wonderful week!
