Dear Parent(s),
Welcome to our last post for the year!  Can't believe we are eleven days from Christmas!  Remember Tuesday night is the Christmas Concert.  Please have the children come to the classroom no earlier than 6:00.  I know the note that came home said, 5:45, but really 6:00 is plenty early enough.  Please keep their coats with you please.  After the concert they will just leave with you. The party is on Thursday with a noon dismissal.  There is no aftercare that day, so all children will need to be picked up on time. This coming week we have a lot of little activities to get ready for Christmas or just completing chapters with a few little projects.  My goal on Tuesday and Wednesday is to limit the homework.  The children have been given their new spelling words that are in the planners for the week of January 7th.  In the event I don't see you this coming week, I wish you and your family the very best for Christmas and the New Year!  The following are some of the things we will be doing this week:

English:  What are Adverbs?  The adverb that answers the question how, and the adverb that answers the question when or where.

Math:  We will be working with our multiplication facts.  We will be working more with arrays and number lines. We will also be representing division by sharing.

Religion:  We will be working on a few Christmas projects this week.  We will also be watching the movie The Star.

Science:  We will be working on our solar system mobiles.

Reading: We will be introducing our new story,The Kamishibai Man.  The vocabulary words for this story are: familiar, blurry, vacant, jerky, applaud, rickety, blasted, rude.  We will just begin this story, but will not get very far into to it before the break. The skills in this story are the ow, and ou vowel diphthongs.

Have a great weekend!
