Dear Parent(s),
Hopefully we are not all snowed in by the time you read this post.  This coming week is a four day school week with Friday being a Faculty/ Federation Day.  The following are  the topics we will be covering this week:

Religion: This week we are covering the four marks of the church.  One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic.

Reading:  We are starting a new story this week entitled Young Thomas Edison.  The vocabulary words for this story are genius, signal, electric, laboratory, gadget, experiment, invention, and occasional. The skills this week are words with au, aw, al, and o.We will also be covering the difference between an object pronoun and a subject pronouns. We will also be reviewing singular and plural nouns.

Spelling:  This week due to the children being off on Monday, their test will be the Tuesday after MLK's Holiday. This weeks words follow the shot i, long i pattern.  The words are still, with, his, bright, might, my, why, visit, picnic, winter, tight, sight, fly, sky.

Social Studies:  This week we will be talking about the Black History Month Project the children will be working on at school and at home.  With many children missing throughout the day today, I've opted to discuss the project with the children Tuesday and send the note home at the time.  Everything that you need to know will be on the paper work.  Some of the project will need to be completed at home neatly.

Math:This week we will be working on how to write equations using story problems. We will be having a math test over Chapter 4 this week.  I will have the children send their books home to review the skills taught in this chapter.

English: We have been preparing for our English Test on Wednesday.  The children have been bringing their books home nightly to prepare for the test.

Have a great weekend!  Stay nice and warm.
