Dear Parent(s), Just many of your darlings, I too was hit by the flu bug. I was able to come back on Friday of this past week. I know our class has been a revolving door as far as children being sick. Can't wait to til we are all back and feeling better. The children received the name of the person they will be working on for their Black History Project. As a matter of fact, that's the first thing they wanted to know when I returned. I can tell they are very excited! This week a lot of fun things are planned for the children for Catholic Schools Week. A letter and several calls from Mr. Morr have been sent explaining the events of the days ahead. This coming Friday is a noon dismissal, if your children are attending they will need to bring a lunch. The following are the topics we will be covering this week: Religion: We are completing our chapter over the Four Marks of the Church. The children will have an open book religion test on Tuesday. We will then be moving onto how the church teaches through the Apostle's Creed. Spelling: This weeks words are: found, doing, until, one, sure, always, almost, hasn't, couldn't, also, a lot, hadn't, angry, hungry. Event though Friday is a noon dismissal, we will still have our test on Friday. Math: The children math test is Monday as promised. They should have their math books and practice test to review with them. After that we will be moving onto the five and nine multiplication tables. English: This week we will be learning how to abbreviate, and write book titles correctly using capitalization. Reading: This week we will be working on Pronoun agreement. They are still working on the story, Young Thomas Edison. We should be ready to test on the story and it's skills by the end of the week. Social Studies: The letter went home explaining your child's Black History Month Project. This week in class, computers, and in library the children will have an opportunity to do research on their person. They will need to be ready to give their presentations on February 19th. Have a great week! |
