Dear Parent(s),
That week went fast!!  Please keep in mind two important dates: February 14th is the children's Valentine party.  Yes, they can bring valentines if they so choose.  If they bring them they have to bring one for everyone in the class.  February 19th is the second date to keep in mind.  That is the date their projects are due.  The children have opportunities to find information about their individual.  Again, as the children are giving their presentations they may dress, or bring a prob that would represent their person.  Have fun!!! Hopefully, you too are learning a lot about their person as well.  The following are the topics we will be covering this week:

Religion:  The girls in our class will be doing our mass this week and the boys will be doing the mass in April.  Please have the girls bring a can good for our food pantry.  This week we will be finishing up chapter 9, which covers How the Church Teaches Us. We will have an open book test on Friday.  I will have them bring their books home so they can go back over the material.

Spelling: Unit 15 words follow the consonant sounds /s/ and /k/.  The words this week are: once, chance, face, house, neck, trick, jacket, since, police, erase, chase, bucket, ticket, locker.

English: We are finishing up Unit 5.  This week we will be working with when to use quotation marks.  We will also be doing a lot of reviewing over this chapter.  I will have the children bring their books home as well this week to prepare for their test on Tuesday.

Math:  We will continue to work with our multiplication facts of 9's and 5's, while introducing the 1's, 0's and 10 facts.  We are half way through this chapter,  Please keep reviewing your child's math facts nightly!

Reading: We will continue to do  journaling from the story , Amos and Boris this week.  Again, as I stated last week there is no test for this story, but a lot of extra writing for the students to do.

Social Studies:  We will continue to do research in our class, at the library, and in computer class.  They should be very close to having all the information they need to complete their projects.  I can's wait to see them!!!

Thanks again to all for our parents who will be up here this week to help Mrs. Kelsey with the last party of the year.

Have a great weekend and stay warm!!
