Dear Parent(s), Welcome to March! Can't believe how fast this year is flying by. Please ask your children about whether they have reached their A.R. goals, the quarter ends this Friday. Remember too that A.R is worth 10% of their reading grade in the forth quarter. The children did an awesome job at St. Catherine's last week. Your child's picture is posted on our website for you to see! The following are the topics we will be covering this week. Religion: We will be finishing up how our church prays at all time. This week is also the beginning of the Lenten Season with Ash Wednesday being this week. We will also be doing different activities revolving around that as well. The children will be attending Stations of the Cross on Fridays as well. Math: We are in the process of completing our review for chapter 5 , and will be taking our test over chapter five on Tuesday. This week too the children will learn how to break apart multiplication problems to solve them. Reading: This week we will be taking our test on Wednesday and Thursday over Technology Wins the Game. We will also be reviewing irregular nouns and action and being verbs. The suffixes ous, ful and less will also be covered this week. English: This week we will be covering when to use I or me, Possessive Pronouns , Contractions, and the use of their, they're, or there. Science: We are covering what is matter and the three states of matter , and how the states of matter can change from one state to another. Spelling: Due to the day off on Friday, the children will be taking their test on Monday and will be given their new words for the week. Those words will be coming from a review unit. Because it is a review week we will have 20 words. The words are: alone, always, hadn't, until, warm, wear, when, chance, chase, jacket, neck, ticket, knee, whistle, wrap, write, wrote, hour, they're, week. Have a great weekend and let's pray for warmer weather! |
