Dear Parent(s),

It's great meeting with you all last night!  Can't believe this week is already the end of October.  Thanks again to our room mother Mrs. Hubert and Mrs. Thomas for getting everything ready for our party on Tuesday!!!!  This week the children will be off for the Holy day on Wednesday.  The following are the topics we will be covering this week.

Religion:  We are still discussing how our ancestors in our faith showed how brave, and strong they were in their faith.  We will have an open book test next Monday over chapter 5.

Spelling:  This Monday is our test over chapter 9 since we have today off.  Our next chapter will follow the Long i sound.  i, igh.

English:  The children will be learning how to combine sentences that share the same subject. The children will be also learning about the special verb "be", and also helping verbs.

Math:  This week we will be adding three or more single digit numbers, telling time to the five- minute intervals using a.m. and p.m. We will also be adding facts using 7, and 8. We will also be working on our multiplication facts of 7, 12, and 25.

Reading:  We are reading the story Pop's Bridge this week. The skills that are covered in this story are the long vowel o spelled oa, aw.  We will also be reviewing nouns inside the subject, and Proper and common nouns.

Science: We are finishing up our unit on the bones of the body.

Have a great weekend and a happy Halloween!  No homework on Tuesday night, and hope the children enjoy Wednesday off as well.
