Dear Parent(s), Can't believing we are marching into our last month of school! Pleas pay special attention to Mrs. McKay's newsletters weekly to make sure you know what is happening each week. This Friday the children are off school due to our last faculty/ federation meeting for the year. The following are the topics we will be covering this coming week: Religion: This week we will be learning about the seven sacraments. We will be learning that some are sacrament of initiation, healing and service to others. This week the children will be attending the May Crowning on Wednesday and will also participate in the Living Rosary. Reading: This week we will be tying up some loose ends before taking our test Tuesday and Wednesday over the story The Extra Good Sunday. Math: We will be reviewing our multiplication facts as we work on dividing by 3's ans 4's. Please continue to have your children review their flash cards nightly! English: The children are working on creative writing projects this week. The first topic they will be writing about is If children were in charge of the world. They all cheered for that one! The second is I'm excited it's almost summer because.... Spelling: The spelling words the children have this week from unit 25 follow the pattern of all letters included. The words this week are: easy, picture, through, guess, caught, different, favorite, surprise, Tuesday, swimming, Monday, fifth, presents. Since the children are not in class on Friday the test will be the following Monday. The practice test will skill be on Thursday. Science: We will be beginning chapter 6 Work and Machines. In the unit they will be asked to create their own simple machine to demonstrate to the class. Have a great weekend and of course Go Blues! |
