Dear Parent(s), Welcome to May and the last few weeks left before summer vacation. Please check Mrs. McKay's newsletters about upcoming events. This coming Friday is Field Day with a noon dismissal. If your child is attending aftercare that day they will need to bring a lunch and drink. The following is the topics we will be covering this week: Reading: We have just started a new story called Judy Moody saves the World. The skills in this lesson are adjectives that tell what kind and how many. The word pattern this week are words with air, ear, and are. Math: Again parents I encourage your child to use the flash cards they made and go over their math facts nightly. This week we will be taking a test over chapter 7 multiplication and division equations. The test will be on Thursday this week. This week we will be finishing up a few loose ends and reviewing for the test. Spelling: The test for chapter 25 will be on Monday due to our day off on Friday. Next weeks words follow the pattern of prefixes un and re. The words are: unhappy, unsafe, unlucky, restart, rewrite, replay, reread, untie, unfold, unwrap, unpack, repay, refill, and repaint. English: This week the children will be doing more creative writing. The topics they will be writing about are:Friendship is important because.... ,and I'm excited it's almost summer because.....
