Dear Parent(s),
Now that the weather is changing it is very important that the children come dressed appropriately to go outside for recess.  Dr. Gilligan philosophy is very much like Mr. Morr's, " If in doubt we go out!"  Thanks for your cooperation regarding this matter.  The following are the topics we will be covering this week.

Religion 2: We will be talking more about how God's forgives us when we make a just contrition.  We will be discussing how important it is to examine our conscience before receiving the sacrament.  We will also be going back into to church to practice for the Sacrament.  Can't believe it is coming up so quickly.

Religion 3: We are taking our open book test on Monday over chapter 4.  After that we will be learning how the apostles led the church, and how the disciples of Jesus shared the good news. We will also be learning about those strong Christians we were Martyrs because they choose to die for their faith than turn away from God.

Spelling: This weeks words follow the Long O pattern using ow, oa, o.  The words this week are: snow, row, load, almost, soak, window, foam, most, flow, goat, throw, float, blow, below, soap.

Math:  This week we will be working with related addition.  This only means is that I can check an addition problem by using a subtraction problem and vice versa. We will also be subtracting by using partial math.

English:  We have just begun our new English unit over verbs. This week we will be covering verbs in the present and in the past.

Reading:  We will begin the week by taking the second part of our reading test. The grammar and phonics skills. The grammar skills were that for using the plural forms of the noun.  (Just like we finished doing in our English unit).  Our phonics section is over the long i sound made with igh, i, and ie.

Science:  We have begun to learn about the different moon phases in science.  They will be working on a project this week regarding the moon phases.

Have a wonderful weekend!
