Welcome to our last full week of school before our Thanksgiving activities and break.  This week the children will be walking down to the Florissant Civic Center on Thursday, November 21st, to see the production of Rosie Revere, Engineer.  Please pray for good weather.  We will be leaving school at 11:15 and will return around 1:15.

Below are the following topics we will be covering this coming week.

Spelling: Unit 12 words are review skills from the lessons from the previous units.  The words are: strips, bail, cream, bind, groan, sold, thigh, bead, bait, brave, fellow, rind creep, sway, grove.

Religion 2:  This week we will be learning how Jesus shares God's forgiveness and peace in the Sacrament of Penance. We will also talk about how important it is to examine our conscience. We will also go into church to practice again for the Sacrament on Sunday.  Parent's a letter went home in your child's Friday Folder letting you know what time to be at the Church site.  Remember not at the school!

Religion 3:  We are blessed to have Dr. Gilligan coming in once a week to teach religion to the school.  Our day will be on Tuesday's.  This week we will continue learning about those brave Martyrs who gave their lives to God.  We will be completing a chapter by the end of the week.  Our Open Book Test will be on Monday of next week.  The book will be send home at the end of the week so they can review.

English: This week we will be learning about verbs in the past.  We will learn that sometimes all you need to do is add a ed, but other times you might have to double the consonant before adding ed or one might have to change the y to an i before adding ed.

Math:  This week we will continue subtracting partial differences and subtracting using three digit numbers, and across zeros.

Reading:  We will be using our skills of being and action  verbs , which coincides with our English unit as well. We will also be reviewing the suffixes able and ible, and subject and predicates. 

Science:  We are exploring space and seeing how our moons and planets move.  We will also be discussing the planets in our solar system.
